Frisco residents have an opportunity to shape the future of the city’s historic downtown neighborhood.

What’s happening?

Visit Frisco, the city’s destination marketing organization, is looking to develop a new, cohesive Rail District brand as construction to revitalize the downtown area continues, according to an April 29 news release.

“We’re seeing lots of activity in the Rail District, and we’re excited to kick off this branding project,” said Cori Powers, Visit Frisco’s marketing and communications director, in the release.

Residents can access the survey and submit their responses here until it closes May 6. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and has multiple opportunities for respondents to elaborate and be specific, according to the release.

“We understand the Rail District is an important area to a lot of people,” Powers said. “We want to ensure we’re soliciting feedback and responses from as many unique perspectives as possible.”

A finished Rail District brand will include a cohesive logo, color palette, typography and copy guidelines to ensure the neighborhood is represented consistently across all marketing channels, according to the release.

“We’ll be developing a brand that truly encompasses the values and personality of the Rail District and tells its story in a meaningful, memorable way,” Powers said.

What’s next?

Visit Frisco and planning group Velocity will continue gathering input throughout May and begin creative development over the summer, according to the release. Brand rollout is expected early this fall.

“Ultimately we want the Rail District, and the brand that represents it, to be something everyone in Frisco is excited to share and experience,” Powers said.
