Five Frisco streets will have new maximum speed limits going forward.

Two-minute impact

Frisco City Council members unanimously approved changing the speed limits for some portions of five city streets, including Cobb Hill Drive and Cotton Gin Road, during a March 5 meeting.

While Fields Parkway did not have an official speed limit before now, drivers should assume an urban roadway has a 30 mph speed limit unless otherwise posted, according to meeting documents.

The speed limits in Frisco were first established with a September 2007 city ordinance, according to meeting documents.

Going forward

Signs with the updated speed limits will be posted at their respective streets at a future date.
