City officials are working toward bringing an arts and culture-focused comprehensive plan to Frisco.

Frisco City Council members approved a $75,014 contract with consultant GO Workshop DBA Civic Arts for services related to creating a Cultural Affairs Master Plan during a Dec. 5 meeting.

Council Member John Keating acted as mayor pro-tem during the meeting as Mayor Jeff Cheney was not present, making it a 5-0 approval.

The gist

A Cultural Affairs Master Plan is expected to help grow the city’s artistic and cultural sectors as Frisco continues to grow by working with community members to identify their goals for Frisco’s arts and culture, according to meeting documents.


Once completed, the master plan will provide more tourism and development-based goals, according to meeting documents.

Contract funds were available through the Parks and Recreation Department’s 2023-24 fiscal year budget, according to meeting documents.
