Mayor Jeff Cheney and City Manager Wes Pierson led a town hall discussion for Frisco residents Sept. 25.

Two-minute impact

Residents had the opportunity to hear citywide updates directly from their city officials.

The town hall began with three short video presentations highlighting the new fiscal year 2023-24 budget, bicycle safety tips when riding around Frisco and an announcement for the first-ever Frisco International Fest.

Frisco International Fest will be held 3-8 p.m. Oct. 21 at Simpson Plaza, located at 6101 Frisco Square Blvd., according to the presentation.

“Nearly two dozen countries will be represented by performers, concessionaires, vendors and crafters,” Communications Director Dana Baird said in the video.

Also of note

Multiple questions centered around some of the ongoing construction projects taking place around Frisco, such as a recently-approved planned development called The Mix at the former Wade Park site.

“The final story of Wade Park will be a positive story,” Cheney said. “We're anxious to get that one back on.”

City staff who spoke at the meeting encouraged residents to reach out to them directly for more specific answers, especially if they are related to traffic or road construction regarding certain intersections.
