Frisco City Council will consider a zoning change for a downtown development during its April 21 regular meeting in the council chambers of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center.

Nack Development is requesting to rezone The Ritchey Gin property, a 2.6-acre parcel on the northeast corner of First Street and Elm Street, which Community Impact Newspaper previously reported will offer 135,000 square feet of office space and restaurants.

City documents also show owners of The Ritchey Gin plan to add structured parking and open space with benches and landscaping. The rezoning was approved by the city’s Planning & Zoning Commission on March 24.

The public can watch the council meeting online as well as participate via telephone or email. In-person attendance is not recommended due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The public can listen to the meeting by calling the toll-free number 888-409-5380. That number also allows for two-way communication between callers and council. People can also email comments and questions to [email protected].

The meeting will be streamed live on the Frisco Television Network, which is shown on the city’s website here or on the following channels:

• AT&T U-verse Channel 99;

• Grande Cable Channel 12 (with cable box), 97.12 (without cable box);

• Time Warner Cable Channel 16 (with cable box), 15.1 (without cable box); or

• Verizon FIOS Channel 37.

Council is also scheduled to consider an ordinance that once again amends its public health emergency disaster declaration. During the April 7 meeting, council extended the declaration through April 30 and amended the text to align with Gov. Greg Abbott's executive order.

Also on the agenda is a public hearing on a request to amend the city's Comprehensive Plan and to adopt the US 380 Overlay District Design Strategy. Council will also receive the March monthly report from the city's police, fire, finance and development services departments as well as Visit Frisco.
