The memorial will be installed at the front of Grand Park on April 30 and be ready for visitors in the first week of May, said Shenna Lawless, commander for the Frisco Veterans of Foreign Wars post, during a March 19 Frisco City Council meeting.
“We can’t wait to be able to remember our Vietnam veterans and honor the ones that have passed, along with the ones that are still with us today,” Lawless said.
The Wall That Heals is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. and comes with a mobile education center for visitors to learn more. The memorial itself is 375 feet in length and 7.5 feet high, according to a Feb. 27 Frisco VFW news release.
Frisco is the installation’s only stop in Texas for the 2024 season.
“We’re very excited to have it,” Lawless said.
