FINAL: Anderson wins race for Frisco City Council Place 1

Ann Anderson won over Mark Piland in the race for Frisco City Council Place 1, according to unofficial election results.

All Collin County and Denton County voting centers are reporting for the Jan. 31 special election.

Anderson received 4,052 votes, or 50.66% of the votes. Piland garnered 3,946 votes, which is a difference of 106 votes.

Collin County saw a 5.37% voter turnout while Denton County saw 6.92%.

Anderson now leads with 4,052 votes, or 50.67%, with Piland trailing with 3,945 votes.

Mark Piland led over Ann Anderson in early voting numbers in the race for Frisco City Council Place 1.

The results include early voting numbers leading up to election day in Denton and Collin counties. The special election comes after seat holder John Keating announced he was running for mayor in the May election.

The details

Piland earned 2,132 votes or 54.36% over Anderson’s 1,790 votes, according to early election results.

Collin County saw 2.2% in early voting turnout while Denton County saw 3.79%.

Totals from ballots cast have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
