Two candidates are running unopposed for seats on the Collin College Board of Trustees while another race will feature two candidates, according to the college’s website.

The specifics

The filing period to apply for candidacy closed at 5 p.m. Feb. 14. Places 4, 5 and 6 on the board are up for election in May.

The Place 4 seat is currently held by Greg Gomel, who did not file for re-election. Candidates in the race for Place 4, listed in order of filing date, include:

  • Tamara Thomas
Incumbent Raj Menon is running unopposed for re-election to Place 5 on the board. Two candidates filed for election for Place 6, but incumbent Stacy Anne Arias withdrew her application for a place on the ballot as of Feb. 14. As a result, Justin Adcock is running unopposed for Place 6 on the board, according to the college’s website.

Looking ahead


Election day is May 3. Early voting will open April 22 and run through April 29. Voter registration ends April 3 and the deadline to request a mail-in ballot is April 22, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
