Frisco ISD is accepting applications from community members who would like to join the district’s committees.

The district has nine committees: the Alumni Advisory Committee, the District Advisory Council, the District of Innovation Committee, the District Improvement Team, the Legislative Leadership Committee, the. Safety and Security Committee, the School Health Advisory Council, the Special Education Parent Committee and the Student Advisory Council.

Most committees use the same application form, which can be found on the district website. The alumni committee has a separate form. Submissions for committee applications opened May 1 and will close Aug. 31.

Committees are made up of district staff, community members, parents, high school students and alumni. The number of representatives from each group varies by committee, according to the website.

“Stakeholder input is important as we continue to refine the practices, policies and education of our students and community,” the district said on its committee website.

Anyone selected from a committee will receive notice from the committee’s chair, per the website. Those not selected will remain in the applicant pool and may be selected to fill vacancies that occur throughout the year.

More information about each committee and the application process can be found on the district's website.
