Questions about the district’s tuition-free virtual learning curriculum, called FISD+, will be answered in a webinar to be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 26. District leadership will go over the application process and provide direction for families, according to an FISD webpage.
The district announced the new program in November. Students will have the option to take FISD classes online full time or as a hybrid student beginning in the 2022-23 school year, according to the district.
“FISD+ provides a fresh and innovative approach to empower students to reach their personal best—no matter what their academic setting,” the FISD website states.
Superintendent Mike Waldrip said in November that the district had been working on FISD+ for years. Senate Bill 15, which Gov. Greg Abbott signed in September, allowed the district to move forward with the program.
