Frisco ISD’s upcoming Emerson High School now has a principal following a board vote.

Kristen Sommers will be the principal of FISD’s 11th high school located in McKinney following board approval at a March 2 meeting.

Sommers is the current associate principal at Lebanon Trail High School, Pam Linton, FISD chief human resources officer, said at the meeting. Sommers first joined the district in 2008 as a special education teacher at Liberty High School.

In her first year, Sommers will help with the final phases of construction, which began in July, and plan for the school’s opening in fall 2021, according to a March 2 release.

“I am excited about working with students and parents as we open a campus together,” Sommers said in the release. “I look forward to building the legacy of Emerson and helping students be successful in high school and beyond.”
