Frisco ISD is encouraging the community to participate in a
survey about the expansion of full-day pre-K. The survey opened Sept. 23 and will close Oct. 21.
The district is expected to
launch full-day pre-K for eligible four-year-olds in the 2020-21 school year. This comes after the passing of House Bill 3 in the recent Texas legislative session.
FISD wants input from families who have younger children and families who would not expect to qualify to attend full-day pre-K for free but would be interested in a tuition-support program, according to a district official.
Full-day pre-K eligibility factors include whether a student is a child of an active-duty military member, is economically disadvantaged, has difficulty comprehending English, and
more, according to a Sept. 23 release.
