Frisco ISD did not open any new schools this year, but the reduced speed school zones were still updated with the opening of new developments in Frisco.

Frisco City Council approved new reduced speed school zones for the 2017-18 school year during its Aug. 1 meeting. Council approves the school zones prior to the beginning of the school year.

Because of changes to FISD’s attendance boundaries, one school zone for Gunstream Elementary School and Wester Middle School has been removed.

In all, five roads in Frisco have new and modified reduced speed school zones this school year. The roads are Rockhill Parkway, Hillcrest Road, College Parkway, Ohio Drive and John Hickman Parkway. Eldorado and Teel parkways also had their school zone times adjusted this year.

The first day of school for FISD students was Aug. 21.
