Scott Hoffner, owner of Didi’s Downton, is set to open LottieBirds in January.

On the menu

The restaurant will serve crepes, ice cream, bagels, coffee and more.

“I think they're just like the greatest vessel—you can put anything in them,” Hoffner said. “I used to do three- and five-course crepe dinners.”

The crepe menu will include sweet and savory options. On the savory side, Hoffner lists lemon chicken with asparagus and Beurre Blanc crepes and Norwegian smoked salmon with whipped cream cheese crepes.

LottieBirds will also serve Henry’s ice cream.

Starship Bagels will also be available at the new eatery.

“I went and did a bagel tasting, and I'm Jewish, so it's just like heaven on earth,” Hoffner said. “Once I tasted them, I was like, wow, these are off the charts.”

Additional menu items will include fresh made pastries, frozen lemonade, frozen espresso and more.

What’s in a name?

Hoffner said he named Didi’s after his mom and he named his new restaurant concept after his daughters.

“My youngest is Charlotte, so Lottie, my oldest daughter's name is Bird,” he said.

What else?

LottieBirds will be located in the space that was formerly Heavenly Donuts. He looks forward to having Diamondback Jiu-Jitsu and Soccer City as his business neighbors and said he will have healthy options on his menu which will be good for pre- and post-workout guests.

Quote of note

Hoffner felt like this was the right time to launch a creperie in Frisco.

“I wouldn't say that it was a dream of mine to open up another creperie but when this space became available I started to formulate the idea and thought it would be really cool to bring them back. And there aren't any ice cream [shops] on the street,” Hoffner said. “Then you have the brewery that's opening right on the other side of the tracks and then the soccer stadium that's getting ready to get redone and then Main Street that's getting redone.”
