Chick-fil-A is making moves toward opening its fifth Frisco location, a company spokesperson said.

“While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is happy to share that we are actively pursuing a new location in Frisco, near the intersection of Coit Road and Eldorado Parkway,” according to an emailed statement from the company.

Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission members approved layout plans for the restaurant and drive-thru during an Aug. 27 meeting. More detailed plans and building specifics are expected to be discussed by commission members at future meetings.

The proposed location would move into the retail spots popping up inside the development taking place at the city's historic Brinkmann Ranch land, next to other businesses including a Tom Thumb grocery store.

“We are excited by the prospect of joining this neighborhood, where each locally owned and operated restaurant creates 80-120 jobs,” according to the statement from Chick-fil-A. “We hope to have the opportunity to serve new guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality.”

Chick-fil-A serves chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, fries and more through drive-thru, dine-in and carryout service. The restaurant chain has four other standalone locations in Frisco and one location inside the Stonebriar Centre.
