1. Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is slated to open at 6560 John Hickman Parkway by the end of the year, co-founder Amy Wright said in an email.
With more than 20 shops nationwide, Bitty & Beau’s Coffee also employs people with intellectual and developmental disabilities “to change the way people see people with disabilities,” according to its website.
The name for the coffee shop comes from two of the Wright family’s children, Bitty and Beau Wright, who were both born with Down syndrome.
Bitty & Beau’s Coffee serves iced and hot coffee drinks including mochas, chai lattes, cold brew and more. It also offers frappes, smoothies and food options such as bagels, muffins, cake pops and cookies.

The family-owned restaurant blends traditional American seafood with Tex-Mex flavors, a company representative said. Along with seafood, such as Chilean salmon and flounder, the restaurant also serves chicken dishes and hamburgers.
