The sounds of friendly chatter and the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen create a constant hum from morning to midafternoon at Frisco Diner. The owners are hands-on, taking people to their seats, serving food or cooking in the kitchen.
“We’re always so busy, and it’s truly a blessing,” owner Afrim Seferi said.
As plates come out of the kitchen, the smell of waffles, eggs Benedict, French toast, skillets, chicken-fried steak and burgers wafts to the tables.
The focus of Frisco Diner’s menu is breakfast and lunch. Some of the customer favorites are Very Berry Bliss Waffles ($9.99), Florentine eggs Benedict ($9.99-$10.99) and chicken-fried chicken ($10.59), Seferi said.
The menu reflects a fresh and modern take on comfort food, he said. The inspiration for the menu comes from the dishes he cooked with his family in Illinois.

Seferi opened Frisco Diner in May 2016. He and his family have always been in the restaurant business: His father owned a couple of restaurants in Illinois, where Seferi grew up busing tables and learning about the business from his father.
Seferi and his brothers took over the family restaurant in Illinois after their father’s health deteriorated. When Seferi’s in-laws moved to Frisco, Seferi and his wife and children found themselves visiting the city often.
“Being here, we realized the economy was great, the people are extremely friendly and the schools were great,” Seferi said. “So we made the decision to relocate from Rockford, Illinois, to Frisco.”
When Seferi and his family decided to make the move from Illinois to Texas, they also decided to open a restaurant that would serve home-cooked-style dishes for breakfast, lunch and brunch daily.

Seferi said that even though the restaurant has been open only a year, he believes Frisco Diner has become somewhat of a community staple in the Frisco area.
“We have such a great thing happening here, I’m happy and proud to be here,” he said. “The customers have taken us in, and while it’s only been a year … we already feel like we’re part of the Frisco community.”
