Frisco ISD residents will see two new schools officially join the district when classes start Aug. 9. The new campuses, Richard Wilkinson Middle School and Shana K. Wortham Intermediate School, bring the total number of FISD schools to 77 as more than 67,000 students get ready to start the 2023-24 school year.

Wortham Intermediate School is the first of its kind in FISD. As an intermediate school, the McKinney-based school’s only students will be fifth and sixth graders. The school was originally Middle School No. 19 in the 2018 bond but eventually became Wortham Intermediate.
