The Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission approved a 30-day extension for an H-E-B Grocery Co.-proposed project Jan. 10.

The extension covers a conveyance plat and site plan that designates one retail grocery store with two drive-thrus, accessory gas pumps and a car wash on about 22.7 acres on the southwest corner of US 380 and FM 423. City staff recommended the 30-day extension, which was requested by the applicant.

A Frisco official said an H-E-B has been proposed for a location near the intersection of US 380 and FM 423. The plans are under review by the city of Frisco.

The item was listed on the commission’s consent agenda and was unanimously approved without discussion.

Attached to the conveyance plat and site plan items was a letter from Hector Leon, a project manager at Westwood’s Plano office. Westwood is an engineering company with offices across the U.S. The company offers planning services, civil engineering services, construction management services and more according to its website.

Acting as “the representative of HEB Frisco 2 Store #802,” according to the letter, Leon requested a 30-day extension “to allow for additional changes to be made to the plans prior to action being taken.” The plans will be resubmitted no later than 14 days before the Jan. 24 commission meeting, according to the letter.

H-E-B opened two stores in Frisco and Plano last fall with more expected to open in the coming years as the grocery store expands into the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Future stores have been confirmed in McKinney, Allen, Mansfield and Alliance, according to H-E-B’s website.

Requests for comment from H-E-B were not immediately returned.
