Two items related to a future big box retail grocery store located on land owned by the H-E-B Grocery Company are listed on the Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission’s Jan. 10 meeting agenda.

Frisco staff are recommending the commission approve a 30-day extension for a conveyance plat and site plan that designates one retail grocery store with two drive-thrus, accessory gas pumps and a car wash on about 22.7 acres on the southwest corner of US 380 and FM 423.

Attached to both items was a letter from Hector Leon, a project manager at Westwood’s Plano office. Westwood is an engineering company with offices across the U.S. The company offers planning services, civil engineering services, construction management services and more according to its website.

Acting as “the representative of HEB Frisco 2 Store #802,” according to the letter, Leon requested a 30-day extension “to allow for additional changes to be made to the plans prior to action being taken.” The plans will be resubmitted no later than 14 days before the Jan. 24 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, according to the letter.

H-E-B opened two stores in Frisco and Plano last fall with more expected to open in the coming years as the grocery store expands into the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Future stores have been confirmed in McKinney, Allen, Mansfield and Alliance, according to H-E-B’s website.

Requests for comment from H-E-B were not immediately returned.
