Both the Frisco City Council and Frisco ISD’s board of trustees approved architectural firm Corgan to design a new performing arts center located at Hall Park.

At their respective meetings Feb. 15, both entities voted unanimously to approve the firm, which beat out 17 other companies bidding for the job, according to Frisco ISD documents.

The city, FISD and the Hall Group entered into an agreement June 1 to build the performance hall. The main performance hall, which will be publicly owned by the district, is expected to have between 1,250-1,500 seats, with an additional community venue owned by the city containing at least another 250 seats, according to a previous report from Community Impact Newspaper.

The performing arts center is part of a larger $7 billlion plan to redevelop Hall Park over the next 20 years to include a new community park, an office tower, a 154-room hotel, a 19-story luxury residential tower, 60 executive suites and a 10,000-square-foot food hall.

An amended master development agreement for the performing arts center will be presented at a later date. Until that agreement is finalized, the district and the city agreed to contract with Corgan for spatial analysis services, according to FISD documents. This agreement will “help provide a more defined scope of work and cost estimate to all the parties prior to formally engaging in the design of the facility.”
