Construction crews are busy putting the finishing touches on the Omni Frisco Hotel, a 300-room luxury hotel with 24,000 square feet of meeting space. The 16-story structure is set to open this summer at The Star in Frisco, a 91-acre, mixed-use development anchored by the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters.
Furniture sat in boxes outside the hotel, and holes were dug on the rooftop pool deck for trees to be planted this week. Hotel General Manager Jeff Smith said there has already been a demand for the 13,000-square-foot grand ballroom to be booked for weddings and other events.
As the Omni Frisco Hotel prepares for its grand opening this year, here are three things to know about the hotel.
The hotel will be the tallest building in Frisco

At 16 stories high, the Omni Frisco Hotel will be the tallest building in Frisco when it opens. Under the right weather conditions, guests on the top floor of the hotel can see all of Lake Lewisville, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in Grapevine and AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The title of tallest building in Frisco will eventually be taken over by the Langham Hotels & Resorts hotel at Wade Park, which is planned to be 35 stories tall.
The rooftop pool and deck will offer more features than other Omni hotels

Though other Omni hotels offer similar features, Smith said he has never seen a rooftop pool and deck in the company like the one at the Frisco hotel. Located on the fourth floor, the outdoor area can hold up to 400 guests and features an infinity pool, a full-service kitchen, cabanas and fire pits. The arbors on the deck are curved to mimic the stitching on a football.
The hotel will offer a variety of food options

Along with the full kitchen on the rooftop pool and deck, the hotel will feature a lobby wine and coffee bar and a Neighborhood Services restaurant. This high-end, tavern-style restaurant has three other locations. The Frisco location will be the largest and the first to serve breakfast. The restaurant will feature a bar, an outdoor patio and a second outdoor entrance for non-hotel guests to access.
Other features of the hotel include:
- 27 suites, including a 1,500-square-foot presidential suite;
- multiple meeting spaces;
- a grand and junior ballroom;
- a retail store in the main lobby;
- a concierge desk; and
- a four-lane driveway at the hotel’s entrance.
