43.39% of restaurant owners choosing to reopen dine-in service May 1, Texas Restaurant Association survey shows

Texas restaurants have been given permission by Gov. Greg Abbott to reopen dining rooms with a 25% capacity cap in place beginning May 1.

While restaurants have the option to reopen to dine-in customers, according to a survey by the Texas Restaurant Association, 56.61% of restaurants are choosing not to reopen or are unsure if they will do so over the next week.

McKinney city services to begin reopening May 1


Starting May 1, McKinney’s retail, restaurants and movie theaters can open at 25% of an establishment's listed occupancy.

This comes after McKinney City Council voted to amend its emergency ordinance at an April 28 special meeting to align with Gov. Greg Abbott's revised plan to reopen Texas announced April 27.

Museums and libraries will be allowed to open at 25% capacity as well, according to Phase 1 of Abbott's plan. No hands-on or interactive components will be allowed.
