Hurts Donut Company specializes in whimsical and oversized house-made doughnuts. The company was started by Selby's niece Kas Clegg and her husband, Tim, two years ago in Springfield, Missouri.

Keith Selby said he has been watching the company grow and he wanted to take part of it success and open its first Texas location in Frisco.

"They were thinking about opening in Dallas, but I saw opportunity here in Frisco to open a franchise store," Keith Selby said. "I thought the concept would do really well here."

His niece and her husband agreed, and the store is expected to open late October or early November. Since announcing the opening of the Frisco Store on Facebook, Selby said the page has received more than 2,600 likes and more than 100 shares.

"The response has been great and people are excited to finally see us here," Keith Selby said.

The company's No. 1 selling doughnut is the Maple Bacon Long John which consists of a doughnut topped with bacon and maple syrup. Other doughnuts include a Nutella-filled doughnut, Oreo cheesecake-filled doughnut and a jalapeño cream cheese-filled doughnut glazed in sweet and spicy Sriracha glaze.

The company also sells doughnut shakes which is doughnuts blended with ice cream. Giant cinnamon rolls and kolaches are also served.

The store will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
