More than 2,000 east Frisco residents will see a change in their recycling and trash schedules starting Jan. 9, 2023.

Residents living in the area east of Independence Parkway and south of Main Street will have their trash pickup day moved from Fridays to Tuesdays. The city estimates 2,271 residential homes will be moved to Tuesday out of the 15,174 homes currently in the Friday pickup zone.

Yard signs will be placed at the entrances of the affected neighborhoods to alert residents of the change, according to city documents.

The day to water the lawn with a sprinkler system in those neighborhoods will also change to Tuesdays because the city’s watering schedule mirrors the pickup schedule.

The schedule was altered to allow for future growth and to balance out existing service days, according to official city documents.

“The schedule change will also help with holiday weeks when Fridays are pushed to Saturdays,” the document stated.

More information on the schedule change and other water services can be found at the city’s Water Resources website.
