Frisco ISD board of trustees to vote on budget
The board will
meet at 7:30 p.m. today at the FISD Administration Building, 5515 Ohio Drive, to vote on the 2017-18 fiscal year budget.
In April,
59 budget recommendations were outlined based on the
priorities-based budgeting that included input from employees, trustees, parents and citizens to prioritize spending and balance the FISD budget.
Recommendations being considered are reducing support staff, an annual participation fee for student athletics and reducing central administration costs.
Frisco City Council to consider homestead exemption
Council will
meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Frisco City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. Council will discuss several items, including adopting a residential homestead exemption. City staff is recommending a 7.5 percent homestead exemption to help ease the tax burden on residents.
State of the City address to outline mayor's 100-day plan
Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney will deliver his first State of the City address Wednesday. Cheney is expected to outline his 100-day plan to deliver on the commitments he made during his campaign for mayor. A commencement ceremony for Frisco Leadership Class XX will also take place during the event. The event is hosted by the
Frisco Chamber of Commerce.
