Bobby Roberti has filed for the Place 6 seat on Frisco City Council in the May 6 municipal election.

Council member Scott Johnson currently holds the Place 6 seat, but he is term limited this year and cannot run for re-election.

Roberti is a financial advisor by trade and is the chairman of the Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission, which he has served on since 2012.

Roberti said he has received so much encouragement from others to run for the seat that he decided to file.

"They wanted an experienced person to fill the big shoes of Scott Johnson," he said. "...I'm hearing what the public is saying, and they don't want the density and they want fiscal conservatism. Both of those I can deliver on."

By serving as the chairman of the commission, Roberti said he has already developed relationships with city staff and leadership. Being on the commission also gives him insight as to which developments are proposed and planned for Frisco, he said.

Roberti has been a financial advisor for more than 20 years and is experienced in municipal finance.

One of the issues Roberti said he is most passionate about is density. He said he has been fighting against high density developments for the past four and a half years.

"I've been the loudest advocate against high density both in voting in zoning cases and in pre-submittal meetings," he said.

Public safety, being fiscally conservative and attracting high-profile companies to the city are other big priorities for Roberti.

"If we manage our budget correctly, we can make sure we have plenty of money to keep public safety a No. 1 priority," he said.

Roberti, who has lived in Frisco for nearly nine years, has also served on the Charter Review Commission, the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee and the Neighborhood Design Strategy Advisory Committee.

"I believe in serving the city selflessly," he said. "...Frisco is a great city to be in, and I want to keep it that way."

Jason Abati, Brian Livingston, K.D. Warach and Rui Zhang have also filed for the Place 6 seat. Click here for more information about Roberti.
