Early voting continues

Early voting for the Feb. 18 special election continues this week. Nine candidates are vying for the Place 1 seat on Frisco City Council. Council Member Bob Allen is vacating the seat to run for mayor of Frisco. For more information about candidates and voting times, click here.

Frisco City Council meeting

Frisco City Council will discuss a specific use permit for a Pediatrics Plus location at Frisco Street and Sports Village Road during its meeting Tuesday. Pediatrics Plus offers outpatient therapy, developmental preschool teaching and diagnostics for children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental issues. The business has four other locations in Arkansas. The Frisco location is planned to be 25,000 square feet and could enroll 140 children. The meeting begins at about 6:30 p.m. at Frisco City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd.

Collin College to call bond election

The Collin College board of trustees will vote on calling a $600 million bond election during a special called meeting Wednesday. The election would take place May 6. If approved, the bond package would raise the college’s tax rate by no more than $0.12 per $100 valuation. The bond would help pay for new facilities, among other things. The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Collin Higher Education Center, 3452 Spur 399, McKinney.
