Frisco ISD hosts parenting series


Madeline Levine, author of "The Price of Privilege," will speak to parents Tuesday about the increasing rate of teenagers from affluent families suffering from depression and anxiety. The session is free and begins at 6 p.m. in the FISD Administration Building board room, 5515 Ohio Drive.

Early voting begins Wednesday


Early voting for the Feb. 18 special election begins Wednesday. Voting will continue through Feb. 14. Nine candidates are vying for the Place 1 seat on Frisco City Council, which is being vacated by Council Member Bob Allen as he runs for Frisco mayor. Special screening of 'Growing Up Smith'


The DFW South Asian Film Festival will host a special screening of the independent film "Growing Up Smith" at 7 p.m. Thursday at Frisco City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. The movie follows the life of 10-year-old Smith after his family moves to the United States from India in 1979. In this comedy, Smith tries to navigate the clashes between American culture and Indian tradition. The movie screening will be followed by a Q&A with two of the film's actors.
