Frisco Police Chief John Bruce has been named a finalist for the police chief position in Spokane, Washington. The Frisco Police Department confirmed that Bruce is a finalist, but had no further details. John Bruce Frisco Police Chief John Bruce[/caption] Bruce is one of four candidates for the job. The other candidates are Robert Lehner, Elk Grove, California police chief; Craig Meidl, Spokane Police Department’s interim police chief; and Dominic Rizzi, Yakima, Washington police chief. The four candidates have been invited to interview with four panels during a community forum from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Bruce has been with the Frisco Police Department since 1996. Two years later he was promoted to captain and in 2003 he was promoted to assistant chief. Bruce was named interim chief in October 2012 and chief in February 2013. Bruce began his law enforcement career with the city of Allen in 1986, giving him about 30 years of experience in law enforcement. Bruce has a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas.
