The hotel in Frisco would be designed by 5G Studio Collaborative in Dallas as a progressive high-rise structure. The hotel is planned have up to 32 floors, including 16 hotel floors and 10 floors of planned residential.
The city's zoning ordinance previously did not allow for hotels to have residential units. However, Council adopted an amendment to the zoning ordinance in 2015 to allow urban living units within a hotel tower with the adoption of an SUP.
Council is expected to vote on the Langham hotel's SUP at a later meeting.
The hotel is planned to have 288 hotel rooms and at least 33 residential units. Parking for hotel guests and residents would not be shared.
The hotel will be a part of the 175-acre Wade Park development, a mixed-use development along Frisco's $5 Billion Mile. Other tenants of the development include Hotel ZaZa, Whole Foods, Pinstripes Bowling and iPic Theaters.
