Frisco offers residents curbside live tree recycling
The city of Frisco is offering curbside live tree recycling to its residents.
All live trees will be made into compost and mulch.
To be eligible for pickup, trees must:
- be placed at the edge of the property, at least 3 feet from trash and recycling carts on your regular trash/recycling day.
- be removed of any supports, electrical wiring, lights, tinsel, ornaments or other decorations.
- be cut into sections no more than 5 feet tall.
- not be covered in a plastic bag.
- not flocked (the chemical component in flocking prevents composting).
Another option for live tree disposal is the self-serve drop off service available at Environmental Services, 6616 Walnut St., Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The same guidelines for curbside pickup trees apply to the self-serve drop off site.
The city’s service provider, Progressive, will collect flocked trees as part of free monthly bulk trasg pickup. Residents need to call 972-292-5900 to arrange a pickup.
The Environmental Services offices and the Environmental Collection Center will be closed Jan. 1 for the holiday. Trash/recycling services will also be moved back a day. All trash normally picked up Jan. 1 will be picked up Jan. 2.
