Extenet, formerly known as ExteNet, “designs, builds, operates and supports transformative communications networks that enhance coverage and capacity while enabling superior wireless service in both outdoor and indoor environments,” according to its website.
The move to Frisco Station was first announced in an August 2022 press release from the telecommunications company.
“This is an opportunity to reimagine our future, a shift towards a more communicative and transparent culture that strives to succeed together,” Extenet President and CEO Richard Coyle said in the 2022 news release. “The city of Frisco offers employees a terrific work-life balance and places us closer to many of our closest partners and clients.”
Extenet was expected to bring 110 new jobs to Frisco residents, Mayor Jeff Cheney said in the 2022 press release. As of April 20, the company had hired more than half of what it promised already, Cheney said.
“Extenet was based in Illinois and have already hired 80 people locally,” Cheney said in a Facebook post celebrating the headquarters’ grand opening. “They are located in Frisco Station and plan to double in size.”
