A Frisco event venue is giving away a free wedding to a couple with a health care worker to honor those on the front lines of coronavirus.

Verona Villa is partnering with Vestals Catering by Front Burner Catering to give the winning couple a free wedding, including a wedding venue, catering, cake, bar and flowers, for Saturday, July 31, 2021, venue owner Jason Young said.

“The idea was to honor the health care workers that are obviously on the front lines of trying to help everybody and [putting] their own self in harm’s way to make the world better,” Young said.

Nominations for the wedding giveaway open April 10, and the winner will be selected May 1, Young said.

One person in the couple must be a health care worker in order to qualify for nomination, Young said. The nomination should include a story detailing why that health care worker should be chosen, he said.

Members from the Frisco community will be on the panel to select the winning couple. Panelists include Visit Frisco Executive Director Marla Roe; Terri McElhaney, Legacy ER & Urgent Care marketing director; HeartStories founder Crystal Gornto and Christal Howard, DFW Metro publisher for Community Impact.

“We’re excited to give our health care hero their dream wedding,” Young said.
