1. Live music at Frisco Rail Yard

Matthew Bell & The Next of Kin returns to Frisco Rail Yard Friday night to perform new songs and some of their classics. The Caboose, 5th Street Patio Café, The Box, The Dock, The Twin Taco and Goombas Authentic Italian will have their food trucks available. 2. Frisco ISD hosts back-to-school bash

Frisco ISD will host a free back-to-school event for students that will give information about school programs, services and other resources. Students can have free food, games and prizes. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Centennial High School, 6902 Coit Road, Frisco. 469-633-6000. www.friscoisd.org

3. Frisco Improv Players offer a night of laughter

4. Shop fresh fruits and vegetables at Frisco Rotary Farmers Market

The farmers market returns this weekend. Local growers and vendors sell their fresh fruits and vegetables as well as pasture-fed beef, pork, lamb and eggs. 5. Observe the night sky at the monthly Frisco Starfest

The Texas Astronomical Society hosts its monthly Frisco Starfest at Frisco Commons Park, 800 McKinney Road, Frisco. This event brings guests together to observe and educate others about the night sky.

6. Grow a Reader: Early Literacy Day 2017

The Frisco Public Library is hosting a full day of workshops and presentations for parents, caregivers and teachers of young children. The event is free and no registration is required. 7. Back to School Sip n’ Shop

Crest Infiniti will host a back to school event, in which more than 20 vendors will provide wine, appetizers and giveaways. Vendors include LuLaRoe, Lipsense, Iconic Top Shop, Doterra and more. Free admission. Noon-5 p.m. Crest Infiniti, 6100 State Hwy. 121, Frisco.
