This weekend Frisco families can watch several musicals happening throughout the city as well as watch a turkey get pardoned by Mayor Pro Tem Will Sowell. Check out the following events happening in Frisco this weekend:
Nov. 18 and 19: Frisco ISD Fine Arts performances
Various schools in Frisco will perform musicals this weekend.
- Trent Middle School will perform Willy Wonka Jr. at 6:30 p.m. today. Tickets are $5 and the performance will be at the school at 13131 Coleto Creek Drive, Frisco.
- Liberty High School will perform Shrek the Musical at 3:30 p.m. today and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Performances will be at the school at 152050 Rolater Road, Frisco.
- Stafford Middle School will perform Shrek the Musical Jr at 7 p.m. today and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $5 and performance will be at the school at 2288 Little River Road, Frisco.
Nov. 18, 19, 20: The Last 5 years – A musical by Jason Roberty Brown
Frisco Community Theatre continues its musical this weekend. The musical explores the rise and fall of relationships and the games couples play. The play deals with adult themes and contains some adult language. It is not recommended for children. Tickets are $22 for seniors, $20 for veterans and $14 for students and active military. The show begins at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Performances will be held at the Black Box Theater, 8004 Dallas Parkway.
Nov. 18, 19 and 20: Photos with Santa
Families can take photos with Santa this weekend at the Stonebriar Centre, 2603 Preston Road, Frisco. With reservations, patrons can spend less time in line; however reservations and photo purchases are not required to visit Santa. Times to visit Santa today and Saturday are from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
Nov. 19: Autumn Walking Tour at the Museum of the American Railroad
Guided walking tours of the museum continue this fall. Site tours are entirely outdoors and involve walking and some climbing. Tours last approximately 45 minutes beginning at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m on Saturday. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 3-12. Guests should meet at the Frisco Heritage Museum, but the tour will take place at the Museum of the American Railroad, 6455 Page St., Frisco.
Nov. 20: The Thanksgiving Turkey Gets a Pardon!
Mayor Pro Tem Will Sowell will stand in for Mayor Maso and pardon the Thanksgiving turkey. There will be other animals available for the children to see and touch. There will also be other activities such arts and crafts, games and historic home tours. The free event will be from 1-4 p.m. at the Frisco Heritage Center, 6455 Page St., Frisco.
