The details
Beginning March 3, Reynolds Asphalt Company will start reconstructing Valley View Lane from Ridgecrest Drive to the end of the asphalt section at 3812 Valley View Lane. The work is being done due to base and surface failures.
The project, costing about $282,765 out of the general fund, is part of an interlocal agreement with the city of Grand Prairie, Melissa Demmitt, the town’s communications director, said in an email. The Town Council approved the renewal of the agreement in 2024.
The town initially entered into the agreement with Grand Prairie in 2010 for street repaving services, according to town documents. Through the agreement, Flower Mound uses Grand Prairie’s contract with Reynolds Asphalt Company to conduct the work. While the project is ongoing, the road will be closed to through traffic but open to residents, Demmitt said.
The work is expected to be completed in 30 days.
More details
Starting March 3, Curtco will start resealing joints on Gerault Road between Lakeside Parkway and Big Canyon Drive. The project is set from completion on March 14 and it will cost $100,000, Demmitt said. The money for the project will come from the general fund.
According to the town’s website, the work is needed to prevent moisture from seeping into the subgrade and to extend the lifespan of the roadway. The project will start in the northbound lanes before moving to the southbound lanes. During this period, two lanes of Gerault Road will close daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
