Starting Dec. 30, Flower Mound officials closed down the two northbound lanes of Morriss Road, and westbound lanes of Eaton Street. The closures are taking place so crews can conduct work on the Morriss Road Water Lines Phase 3 project. Detours will be set up on adjacent streets.

The details

The project includes the installation of about 4,400 linear feet of 30-inch water line along Morriss Road from Eaton Street to Waketon Road, according to Flower Mound’s website. The project will cost about $7,435,000 and be paid for through impact fees, utility debt, grants and other means. This water line will replace the existing 20-inch line and is needed to provide additional capacity to the town’s distribution system.

The whole project is expected to be complete in the summer of 2025, but these road closures are only anticipated to last until Jan. 6.
