Asphalt overlay projects on several roadways within Highland Village are set to start early next year, according to information from the city.

A contract for the work was awarded to a contractor, Jagoe-Public Company, in September, with a notice to proceed expected in early January, per the information released. City officials held a meeting with the contractor in December.

About the project

Work includes asphalt overlays on the RV circle within Pilot Knoll Park and the parking area between the circle, according to city documents. Four roadways are also set to receive asphalt overlays, including:
  • Remington Drive West
  • Remington Terrace
  • Village Tree Drive
  • Orchid Hill Lane
Council awarded a construction contract outlining a cost of up to $397,915, which will be appropriated from the general fund, per city documents.

The asphalt overlays are expected to improve the overall ride quality and extend the lifespan of the four roadways, along with the parking area and RV circle in Pilot Knoll Park.

Looking ahead

A notice to proceed for Jagoe-Public Company is expected to be released Jan. 6, 2025, according to city information.
