Construction on Highland Shores Boulevard is anticipated to begin soon after Highland Village City Council approved a contract for the project.

The project entails asphalt overlay on Highland Shores Boulevard from Highland Village Road to Briarhill Boulevard and improvements to the pedestrian crossing at Community Center Drive, according to the agenda item.

Highland Shores Boulevard was built over three decades ago. The section of Highland Shores Boulevard slated to receive improvements was restored in 2009. An asphalt overlay is needed to maintain the roadway, further increase its longevity and maintain good ride quality, according to project details.


Construction is anticipated to start in February. Work is anticipated to take 120 days to complete, according to contract details. Funding for the project is available through the city’s 2022 bond program.
