Progress is being made on nine residential roadways in Highland Village initially approved for reconstruction earlier this year.

The first phase of the city’s 2023 street improvement project was approved in May with paving complete and reconstruction underway for at least five of the roadways, according to Highland Village City Manager Paul Stevens.

The gist

Paving is complete for Glenmere Drive, Camden Drive, Turpin Drive and La Mesa Drive, according to Stevens, who added that construction for Moran Drive is underway. Other roadways—Medina Drive, Catlin Circle, Catlin Terrace, Ranney Drive and Lakeland Drive—are also funded in the first phase.

The context

The city has allocated $9 million for the street improvement project, which was authorized as part of the 2021 bond issue. The first and second phases of the street improvement project account for $3.6 million of the $9 million.
