Argyle Town Administrator Erika McComis has resigned from her position and will leave in two weeks.

An Aug. 7 news release from the town said her last day will be Aug. 23.

"[McComis'] dedication and hard work have significantly contributed to the well-being of our town,” Mayor Rick Bradford said in the release. “She will be greatly missed, but we are excited for her as she embarks on this new chapter in her career."

The details

When contacted by Community Impact, McComis declined to say what is next for her but said she is “moving in a different direction.” She started with the town in October 2018 as the town secretary and human resources director. In 2020, she transitioned to assistant town administrator and finance, then left for nearly a year in July 2021. She returned in June 2022 as the town administrator.

"I have considered this job a privilege and honor, and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with our council and staff," McComis said in the release. “Their mentoring and friendship have been instrumental in my growth and success."

What they're saying

In the release, McComis praised the town staff.

"We have the best staff we’ve had in several years," she said. "I am proud of the team we have built and the progress we’ve made together. Our current staff is capable, committed and ready to take on the exciting projects we have in the works, including the design and construction of our new Law Enforcement Center."

What's next

Argyle Town Council will soon begin the search for a new town administrator, the release states.

“We remain committed to our ongoing projects and to maintaining the high standard of service that our community expects and deserves,” the release states.
