Flower Mound residents interested in serving the town through leadership positions on commissions, committees or boards may apply beginning Aug. 1.

The background

The town's boards, commissions and committees consist of resident volunteers who advise the town on issues, and assist council in policy development and administration of services, the town website states. A member or alternate member of a board or commission must be a resident and a qualified voter of the town at the time of his or her appointment.

Council will accept applications until 5 p.m. Aug. 30, according to information from the town. Through these boards and commissions, residents serve the town in a variety of services it offers, from parks to environmental conservation to transportation.

  • Animal services board
  • Cultural arts commission
  • Environmental conservation commission
  • Parks board
  • Tax increment reinvestment zone
  • Transportation commission
Additional vacancies may occur throughout the board application process, Town Secretary Theresa Scott said.
