The Denton County Courthouse on the Square is temporarily closed for repairs.

The facility closed to the public Jan. 22 and is expected to reopen this fall. The closure is needed to replace the historic building’s HVAC system, according to a news release. The facility, which was built in 1896, is home to the Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum as well as John B. Denton’s grave.

Individuals can still reach out to the office of history and culture for assistance during the closure. The Denton County Historical Park will still be available to the public.
