A new comprehensive plan in Argyle continues to be studied as the Town Council discussed the plan during a workshop at the May 15 meeting.
The background: The comprehensive plan, as noted on the town website, is a “reflection of community sentiments, aspirations, goals, objectives and vision for Argyle’s incorporated land area and its associated extra-territorial jurisdiction.” It was last updated in 2018.
What’s happening: Argyle Town Administrator Erika McComis told Community Impact that town staff has met with the consultant team and the comprehensive plan advisory committee chairs to discuss moving forward and creating a timeline. Council received information after staff met with Freese and Nichols as well as the two co-chairs of the committee. Freese and Nichols is an engineering, planning and consulting firm.
What they’re saying: “We’re putting together a new timeline that has been delayed a little bit and then going over what sections will be presented to the committee as a whole, and then when we’re going to do our town hall meetings,” McComis said, adding the work session was an update to discuss the outline of the processes that will be followed in the future.
The timeline: Town officials hope to have the plan finished by November or December, McComis said. A town hall meeting is scheduled for June 8, according to a city memo.
