The event—to be held at 4 p.m. at Gerault Park, 1200 Gerault Road—was originally scheduled for Oct. 28, but it was postponed in advance because of forecast rain that day.
The details
The town partners with the Denton County India Cultural Association for this event, which includes Rangoli art, remarks from community and town leaders, live performances, music and a fireworks show. The association stated on its website that the event seeks to, among other objectives, promote, coordinate and support joint efforts in the social, cultural, educational and charitable activities for the members, and to "foster friendship and understanding between people of Asian Indian origin and other Americans."
