Argyle town officials will celebrate Arbor Day with activities including a free tree distribution from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 4 at Argyle Town Hall, 308 Denton St. E., according to a news release.

Local certified arborists TreeNewal and representatives from Keep Argyle Beautiful will join Mayor Rick Bradford for coffee, donuts and a free tree distribution at the event, the release stated. TreeNewal representatives will assist with information on planting best practices and be available to answer questions. The event will have a drive-thru option for residents who just want to pick up trees.

Argyle is a certified Tree City USA, which, according to the group’s website, “provides communities with a four-step framework to maintain and grow their tree cover.”

Argyle residents can can register online to select a drive-thru time slot and select one of the following free trees:
  • Tuscarora Crape Myrtle
  • Basham’s Party Pink Crape Myrtle
  • Chinese Pistache
  • Texas red oak
  • White oak
