From 5K runs to meeting Santa, residents will find plenty to do this month in Flower Mound, Highland Village and Argyle.

Dorothy's Dash 5K Run & Kid's K

On Nov. 16, 2004, former Flower Mound employee Dorothy Walkup died after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The town of Flower Mound is sponsoring Dorothy's Dash to honor her memory and to raise funds to combat multiple sclerosis.Tri-Town Amazing Race

Residents can test their skills in the Tri-Town Amazing Race. Eleven pit stop challenges will be offered throughout Flower Mound, Highland Village and Lewisville. Each pit stop will provide physical and/or mental challenges to encourage team bonding. Teams of two to six people will compete, and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishing teams as well as the winners of the Best Costume Contest and Social Media Contest.Christmas Parade of Lights & Tree Lighting Ceremony

Each year Flower Mound rings in the holidays with the Christmas Parade and tree lighting. The event festivities include lighted floats that parade down Spinks Road, live performances from local groups, pictures with Santa, a community tent, food trucks, kids activities and a countdown to the lighting of more than 100,000 LED lights on a 50-foot-tall Christmas tree.Wine Down with the Grinch


Highland Village is hosting a date night opportunity for adult couples during the holiday season. The night features music entertainment, adult beverages, dinner and a special guest appearance from the Grinch. Space is limited, and registration is required. Tickets can be purchased online or at The Robert & Lee DuVall Center.Breakfast with Santa

Residents can join Santa as he makes his yearly stop for a pancake breakfast at Flower Mound’s Community Activity Center. Attendees can enjoy making crafts and writing a wishlist for Santa. Preregistration is required.
