Incumbent Sheila Taylor won re-election against challenger Ryan Echols in the race for Place 7 on the Lewisville ISD board of trustees, with 100% of precincts in Denton Tarrant counties reporting.

Taylor received 5,925 votes, 68.4%, while Echols garnered 2,737 votes, 31.6%. All results are unofficial until they are canvassed.

Based on unofficial results, there were 42,353 ballots cast countywide, which represents 6.91% of Denton County's 613,020 registered voters. There were 98,564 ballots cast in Tarrant County, which represents 7.99% of the county's 1.23 million registered voters.

Taylor has garnered 5,918 votes, 68.38%, compared to Echols, who received 2,736 votes, 31.62%. All results are unofficial until they are canvassed.

Taylor will serve another three-year term.

Taylor added that she will focus on advocating for teacher compensation and improving student outcomes within the district.

Denton and Tarrant counties have released early voting totals for the race for Place 7 on the Lewisville ISD board of trustees.

Place 7 is elected at-large, meaning that any voters within LISD’s boundaries can cast ballots in the race. LISD has a hybrid election system where places 1 through 5 are single-member districts and places 6 and 7 elected at-large.

According to unofficial early voting results, Taylor has received 3,972 votes, 69.61%, while Echols garnered 1,734 votes, 30.39%.

In early voting, there were 29,162 ballots cast countywide, which represents 4.76% of Denton County's 613,020 registered voters. In Tarrant County, 63,369 early voting ballots were cast, which is 5.14% of Tarrant County’s 1.23 million registered voters.


Totals from ballots cast May 3 have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
