With all Denton County precincts reporting, results show Rich McDowell has defeated Joshua Pezzuto in the Argyle ISD Place 4 school board race with 51.02% of the vote.

McDowell received 1,352 votes while Pezzuto received 1,298.

Incumbent Leona McDade defeated Wendy McCue in the AISD Place 5 school board race with 55.63% of the vote.

McDade received 1,433 votes and McCue received 1,143.

"It was a hard fought campaign," McDowell said. "We are looking forward to being a part of the district and understanding that we have to take care of the children."

McDowell congratulated Pezzuto on a well run campaign and said the next steps are starting continued education training in the next two weeks as he begins his transition to the school board.

"Thank you for the confidence in me shown by the voters in our district," McDade said in an email. "I will continue being an advocate for all our students and teachers."

With 157 out of 245 precincts reporting, results show Rich McDowell leads Joshua Pezzuto in the Argyle ISD Place 4 school board race with 50.82% of the vote.

McDowell has 1,335 votes while Pezzuto has 1,292.

Incumbent Leona McDade leads Wendy McCue in the AISD Place 5 school board race with 55.62% of the vote.


McDade has 1,420 votes while McCue has 1,133.

Results show Rich McDowell leads Joshua Pezzuto in the Argyle ISD school board Place 4 race with 53.15% of the vote.

McDowell has 1,207 votes while Pezzuto has 1,064.


Leona McDade leads Wendy McCue in the AISD school board Place 5 race with 56.48% of the vote.

McDade has 1,251 votes while McCue has 964.

Argyle ISD released preliminary May school board elections results for the Place 4 and Place 5 races.


Rich McDowell leads Joshua Pezzuto in the AISD board of trustees, Place 4 race with 52.74% of the vote, early results show.

McDowell has 1,059 votes while Pezzuto has 949.

Incumbent Leona McDade leads Wendy McCue in the AISD board of trustees, Place 5 race with 56.21% of the vote, early results show.

McDade has 1,100 votes while McCue has 857.

The details

Place 4 trustee Ritchie Deffenbaugh chose not to run for re-election this year. Deffenbaugh has been on the school board since 2018 and won re-election in 2021 with over 64% of the vote, according to district documents.

Two candidates are vying for Deffenbaugh’s spot: loan officer McDowell and Pezzuto, entrepreneur and Northlake Planning and Zoning Commission, Place 2 member.

McDade has been on the board since 2018. She is challenged by McCue, executive assistant at the University of North Texas. School board trustees are elected to serve three-year terms for each place.
